Inspiration from a Lion

We recently took a late night trip with a friend to see Prince Caspian. The challenges we felt from a children's classic have lasted all week. We walked out of the theatre encouraged spiritually, imagine that! Here is what we took away:

1. Child-like faith is crucial if we hope to see and hear God.
How complicated we can make salvation through faith in Jesus Christ!

2. God doesn't do things the same way twice.
That can include speaking, answering, moving, nurturing and disciplining.

3. God shows up just in time.
Often, maybe always, it isn't fast enough by our standards, but it is always in His time. How grateful we are for that!!

4. Enjoy the world of imagination!
Life can be taxing. Take a good dose of a fictional book from time to time. Have you read a good one lately or know another great classic? We'd love to hear!

5. Know the Truth.
It is the stability we need, unchanging and constant. God's word and His spirit are available to help us believe when we can't see, step in faith, follow for His best and receive His assurance. Read it, digest it, memorize it, apply it.

Intermingled with the thoughts from the movie has been this song which reminds us of the promise in Revelation 21: 6-7.

"It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring
of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I
will be his God and he will be my son."
